Images are missing alt text

MediumDefault severity · Accessibility · Accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA)

Last reviewed

What it checks

<img> elements without an alt attribute (decorative images may use alt="").

Why it matters

Screen-reader users hear the file name or nothing, and miss what the image communicates.

Recommended fix

Add descriptive alt text to meaningful images and alt="" to purely decorative ones.

How to verify

Inspect each image and confirm it has an alt attribute.

Example fix prompt

Please fix this production issue in my app.

Issue A11Y-002: Images are missing alt text
Site: https://your-app.example

First confirm the issue in the code or live config. If it is not present, say so and change nothing.
Task: Add an alt attribute to every <img> listed in the evidence: describe what the image shows or does for meaningful images, and use alt="" for purely decorative ones. Do not change the layout or images themselves.

Constraints: make the smallest change that fixes this, keep the current design and behaviour, never paste secret values into code or chat, and tell me which files you changed.
Done when: Inspect each image and confirm it has an alt attribute.
