No mobile viewport, or zoom is disabled

MediumDefault severity · Accessibility · Accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA)

Last reviewed

What it checks

The viewport meta tag: present, and not blocking zoom with user-scalable=no or maximum-scale below 2.

Why it matters

Without a viewport tag phones render a tiny desktop page; blocking zoom stops low-vision users from enlarging text.

Recommended fix

Use <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1"> and never disable zoom.

How to verify

Open the site on a phone, confirm it fits the screen and that pinch-zoom works.

Please fix this production issue in my app.

Issue A11Y-006: No mobile viewport, or zoom is disabled
Site: https://your-app.example

First confirm the issue in the code or live config. If it is not present, say so and change nothing.
Task: Set the viewport meta tag to exactly `width=device-width, initial-scale=1` in the root layout or index.html, removing user-scalable=no and maximum-scale if present.

Constraints: make the smallest change that fixes this, keep the current design and behaviour, never paste secret values into code or chat, and tell me which files you changed.
Done when: Open the site on a phone, confirm it fits the screen and that pinch-zoom works.
