Moving text with <marquee> or <blink>

LowDefault severity · Accessibility · Accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA)

Last reviewed

What it checks

<marquee> and <blink> elements.

Why it matters

Moving or blinking text cannot be paused (WCAG 2.2.2) and is hard to read for people with attention or vision difficulties.

Recommended fix

Replace it with static text, or a carousel with a pause button.

How to verify

Confirm no text moves or blinks without a pause control.

Please fix this production issue in my app.

Issue A11Y-015: Moving text with <marquee> or <blink>
Site: https://your-app.example

First confirm the issue in the code or live config. If it is not present, say so and change nothing.
Task: Replace the <marquee>/<blink> elements in the evidence with static text (or an accessible ticker that has a pause control and respects prefers-reduced-motion).

Constraints: make the smallest change that fixes this, keep the current design and behaviour, never paste secret values into code or chat, and tell me which files you changed.
Done when: Confirm no text moves or blinks without a pause control.
