PERF-012

Large images embedded inside the HTML

LowDefault severity · Performance · SEO, quality and performance

Last reviewed

What it checks

Total size of base64 data: images inside the HTML (over 150 KB).

Why it matters

Embedded images cannot be cached separately and make the HTML, the first thing the browser needs, much heavier.

Recommended fix

Serve images as separate files.

How to verify

Check the HTML size in the network tab drops.

Example fix prompt

Generic prompt (your report adds the evidence)
Please fix this production issue in my app.

Issue PERF-012: Large images embedded inside the HTML
Site: https://your-app.example

First confirm the issue in the code or live config. If it is not present, say so and change nothing.
Task: Move the large base64 images out of the HTML into separate optimised image files (WebP/AVIF) referenced by URL.

Constraints: make the smallest change that fixes this, keep the current design and behaviour, never paste secret values into code or chat, and tell me which files you changed.
Done when: Check the HTML size in the network tab drops.
