PRV-010

Unverifiable claims or reviews

LowDefault severity · Privacy / Legal · Legal, privacy and consent

Last reviewed

What it checks

Absolute guarantees, superlatives, customer counts and star ratings without a named source.

Why it matters

Claims you cannot back up can mislead customers and attract regulator or platform complaints (for example FTC rules on reviews).

Recommended fix

Keep only claims you can prove, cite the source of ratings, and use real, attributable testimonials.

How to verify

Re-read the homepage and confirm every number, rating and guarantee can be backed up.

Example fix prompt

Generic prompt (your report adds the evidence)
Please fix this production issue in my app.

Issue PRV-010: Unverifiable claims or reviews
Site: https://your-app.example

First confirm the issue in the code or live config. If it is not present, say so and change nothing.
Task: Review the marketing claims listed in the evidence. Rewrite any you cannot back with data into specific, verifiable statements, link ratings to their source (for example the review site), and make sure every testimonial is from a real, attributable customer.

Constraints: make the smallest change that fixes this, keep the current design and behaviour, never paste secret values into code or chat, and tell me which files you changed.
Done when: Re-read the homepage and confirm every number, rating and guarantee can be backed up.
