REL-005

Long redirect chain before the page loads

LowDefault severity · Performance · SEO, quality and performance

Last reviewed

What it checks

Number of redirects between the scanned URL and the final page.

Why it matters

Every redirect is another round trip before anything shows, and search engines may stop following long chains.

Recommended fix

Redirect straight to the final URL in one step.

How to verify

Run `curl -sIL <url>` and confirm at most one redirect.

Example fix prompt

Generic prompt (your report adds the evidence)
Please fix this production issue in my app.

Issue REL-005: Long redirect chain before the page loads
Site: https://your-app.example

First confirm the issue in the code or live config. If it is not present, say so and change nothing.
Task: Collapse the redirect chain in the evidence into a single redirect from the original URL to the final URL (hosting or framework redirect config).

Constraints: make the smallest change that fixes this, keep the current design and behaviour, never paste secret values into code or chat, and tell me which files you changed.
Done when: Run `curl -sIL <url>` and confirm at most one redirect.
